These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Light sleeper: A witness called police to report that he heard three loud popping noises at 4:18 a.m. Oct. 19 and looked out of his window onto Taylor and Columbus streets to see a man wearing a dark hoodie sweat shirt lean inside a parked vehicle with a broken window. Officers quickly arrived and arrested the suspect, who was found in possession of an air gun, knife, burglar tools and stolen property.

Ingleside

Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

Undocumented driving: An Excelsior district motorist was pulled over on the 600 block of Vienna Street at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 19 for a vehicle registration violation. He was driving with a suspended license and was wanted on a previous warrant for the same charge. His car was impounded and he was booked.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Armed robbery: A man armed with a gun and his face covered came into a convenience store on the 900 block of Clement Street at 1:33 a.m. Oct. 22. He pointed the gun at the clerk and customers and told the cashier to give him money. The robber then fled north on 10th Avenue.

Silent on shooting: A Golden Gate Park shooting was reported near Martin Luther King Drive and 25th Avenue at 11 p.m. Oct. 22. Officers located the 30-year-old male victim, who said only that he was shot by an unknown suspect near a lake and would not provide any further information. He was transported to a local hospital.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Weed whacked: A vehicle was stopped on the 1100 block of Vicente Street for an equipment violation at 4:07 p.m. Oct. 20. Officers found a large amount of marijuana and other drugs inside the vehicle. Two suspects who live on West View and Lake Street were arrested on numerous narcotics charges.
