Mission

Mission district, Noe Valley

Armed robbery: Three gun-toting suspects entered a check-cashing business on the 3000 block of 21st Street and robbed the premises at 9:34 a.m. Sept. 19. Four employees and five customers were held at bay during the stickup.

Strong-arm robbery: Officers were flagged down by a victim who was robbed while waiting for the 14 Mission bus on 16th and Mission streets at 11:11 p.m. Sept. 21. They immediately detained two suspects and located three more. All five were arrested for robbery and conspiracy, and a variety of evidence was recovered.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Nightclub crime wave: Counterfeit currency was passed at an adult entertainment club on the 400 block of Broadway at 10:40 p.m. Sept. 29. A pole-dancing aficionado was arrested with two counterfeit $100 bills in his possession.

After 2:30 a.m. the same night, unknown burglars broke into a nightclub on the 500block of Broadway and stole 15 cases of liquor plus a locked safe with all its contents.

Dead on Post: An unidentified 29-year-old male was found deceased in the street on the 2300 block of Post Street at 12:49 a.m. Tuesday.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Burglary in progress: A neighbor had reported seeing a strange man with a flashlight in the alleyway of a home on the 600 block of 45th Avenue at 10:42 p.m. Sept. 26. Sounds of glass breaking had been heard moments before. The first officer arriving on the scene saw a broken window in the back yard.

He heard footsteps inside and alerted the other responding officers that someone was still inside the home. Then the suspect climbed out the back window, apparently unaware of any police presence. He was taken into custody without incident and the owners, who were out of town, were informed of the break-in to their home.
