S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department’s daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

On the scent: Officers noticed a man in a vehicle on the 800 block of Geary Street with music blaring from the open windows, along with a strong odor of marijuana, at 3:40 a.m. May 8.

After investigating the man from Pacifica, they discovered a loaded handgun in the vehicle.

Southern

South of Market, China Basin, Embarcadero

Jacked: A man had just purchased some food at Jack in the Box on May 2 when he was surrounded by a group of at least six young men and women. The group demanded money from the victim, who told them that he had none.

When the victim turned to walk away, he was struck on the head and fell to the ground. While on the ground, he was punched and kicked. The group fled, but the victim caught up to one of them and contacted police.

Park

Cole Valley, Haight, Castro, Twin Peaks, Panhandle

Sexual assault: A youth in the Twin Peaks area said that as she was getting ready for school at 7:15 a.m. May 5, two men entered her bedroom and disrobed her after throwing her on the bed.

They restrained her using various devices, and a sexual assault was committed by both men. The suspects left after ransacking the apartment. The victim called a friend, who then called police.

Officers arrived to find the victim partially clad and restrained.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Gun in school: Security personnel and administrators smelled marijuana in a classroom at Lowell High School at 5:17 p.m. May 8 and searched the students.

A security guard saw that one student had a semi-automatic weapon in his waistband. The police were called and detained the suspect.

The officers removed the fully loaded weapon and arrested the boy.
