S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Southern

South of Market, China Basin, Embarcadero

Drug bust: Officers arrested a subject for saleof crack cocaine at Golden Gate Avenue and Hyde Streets at 1:38 p.m. May 25.

Tenderloin

Tenderloin, bordered by Geary, Market and Larkin streets

Break it up: Plainclothes officers observed a man punching a woman in the face on the 300 block of Ellis Street on May 17. The officers stepped in to stop the beating. One officer was hit in the face with a milk crate as he attempted to put an end to the attack. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with multiple felonies.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Gum thieves: Suspects gained entry into two classrooms in a school on the 600 block of 32nd Avenue between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 17 and took computers, a VCR and gum. There was also new graffiti in the hallways.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Cafe assault: Two suspects entered a coffee shop at 1:30 p.m. May 12. One went up to order water from the person working the counter. The second approached a young woman working on the laptop seated near the back of the shop and struck her. The suspects ran to a waiting van parked by Central and Grove streets. A witness saw the suspects running and called police. The suspects were booked for robbery.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

Teamwork: The Bayview Cease Fire Team, working with Oakland police, detained a suspect wanted in a series of armed robberies in The City and Oakland. Officers from Bayview and Ingleside stations served an arrest and search warrant on the suspect’s residence on the 600 block of Sunnydale Avenue in San Francisco at 1:26 a.m. May 16. Oakland police responded and took custody of the suspect and the SFPD assumed responsibility for the investigation.
