S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department’s daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Mission

Mission district, Noe Valley

Robbery: A 35-year-old man was struck in the ribs with a baseball bat by an unknown man at 9:45 p.m. May 24 at 26th and Harrison streets while another man went through the victim’s pockets.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Feigning sleep: Officers responded to a call of a man trying to steal a car on the 500 block of Anza Street at 5 a.m. May 28. The witness reported that she heard a car alarm and saw the suspect with a flashlight, looking into a sport utility vehicle.

The officers located the SUV and found the suspect in the driver’s seat, pretending to be asleep.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Flower children: Officers responded to a flower vendor at Stockton and Vallejo streets who said three young men caused a disturbance at midnight May 25 and broke a flower that one eventually paid for.

A short while later, a robbery victim made a report at Central Station. The officers overheard thedescription and determined that the three young men were the same suspects. The officers arrested the suspects from Oakland on the 700 block of Pacific Avenue.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

Peanut gallery: An officer was driving near McKinnon Avenue when a resident requested his help. The person said he was on the bus at noon June 1 when a group of individuals began throwing peanuts and yelling obscenities at him.

Ingleside

Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

If I had a hammer: The former manager and current resident of a boarding house on Virginia Street broke windows with a hammer while making threats to other tenants at 10:20 p.m. June 1. Officers arrested the 46-year-old Bernal Heights man.
