S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department’s daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Shooting: At 1:40 a.m. July 12, officers were called to a party on the 400 block of California Street on a reported shooting. The officers located the victim, a 27-year-old man from Vallejo, who had been shot once in the arm.

The suspect, a black man, 35 to 40 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a stocky build and a black pinstriped shirt, fled among the other 800 to 900 partygoers. The unauthorized party on the 15th floor was broken up and cleared.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Trespassing: At 12:50 p.m. July 9, a man on the 700 block of Seventh Avenue was awoken by noises inside of his apartment and observed a man standing inside of his residence. The victim confronted the suspect, who told the victim that he thought the apartment belonged to someone he knew and then walked out of the apartment. The victim stated that there didn’t appear to be anything missing.

Ingleside

Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

Armed robbery: At 9:50 p.m. July 9 on the 1000 block of Brussels Street, a Portola district man reported another man following him as he walked home and followed him to his front door. The suspect then produced a gun and robbed the man of his laptop computer.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

Attempted robbery: Officers responded at 8:30 a.m. July 12 to the 1000 block of Gilman Avenue regarding an attempted robbery. A man stated that he was walking on the street when he was approached from behind by three unknown people who attempted to take his wallet from his back pocket. One of the suspects punched the victim in the face.

All three of the suspects then ran in opposite directions. A medic responded and treated the victim at the scene. Officers searched the area to no avail.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Homeless: At 7:35 a.m. July 13 on 19th Avenue and Vicente Street, officers cited a Miami resident for living in a vehicle on a public street and delaying an officer in the performance of his duties. At 2:04 p.m., officers observed the same person distracting traffic with a large sign. He refused to cease his efforts and was arrested for two vehicular violations.
