S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Park

Cole Valley, Haight, Castro, Twin Peaks, Panhandle

DUI discovery: Foot patrol officers responded to the 1800 block of Haight Street on the report of a man causing an evening disturbance at 9:57 p.m. Sept. 4.

The disturber was observed to be under the influence of alcohol, placed under arrest and taken to Park Station where a warrant check was made. Officers found an outstanding out-of-county warrant for his arrest, and he was booked.

Ingleside

Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

License crackdown: Don’t drive without a valid license in the Ingleside precinct. Police there cited no less than 11 unlicensed drivers during Sept. 9 and 10. Some of the scofflaws were also booked for drug possession or outstanding warrants.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Follow that burglar: Just before 6 a.m. Aug. 30 on the 1000 block of Bush Street, officers raced to a call of an auto burglary in progress. A witness pointed to the burglar’s escape route. An area search was coordinated and the burglar was nabbed at O’Farrell and Jones streets, still carrying a large duffle bag with the stolen property inside.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Street crack: Plainclothes officers in the area of Second Avenue and California Street observed a man sitting in a car and smoking from a crack pipe at 3:08 p.m. Sept. 9. Upon closer approach, they could also see crack cocaine sitting on the center console.

The smoker admitted he had just purchased his drugs from a woman who lived around the corner and he knew that the occupant was on felony probation for numerous narcotic-related arrests.

Just then, the female occupant exited her home and was stopped and found to have the brown bag carrying a large amount of cocaine.
