S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Heavy hotel heist: A burglar entered a hotel room on the 900 block of California Street sometime between 6:05 p.m. and midnight Sept. 18 and stole personal items including an engagement ring valued at $45,000.

Mullet mugger: A 25-year-old man with a mullet hairstyle entered a retail establishment on the 200 block of Sutter Street and concealed three shirts inside a plastic bag at 11:50 a.m. Sept. 19. An employee confronted the shoplifter and was assaulted as he retrieved the store’s property.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Helping themselves: Three young men entered a business on the 1800 block of Divisadero Street at 5:38 p.m. Sept. 22. While the employee went into a storage room, one of the men was seen leaning over the business counter and taking the store’s laptop.

Daytime burglary: Sometime during the afternoon of Sept. 18, an unknown burglar gained entry into a residence on the 2100 block of Sutter Street, probably by prying open a window. The loot was two laptops and a camera.

Mission

Mission district, Noe Valley

Fugitive campers: Three people were found camping in Franklin Square Park at 7:50 a.m. Sept. 18. One camper had a parole warrant and another had a warrant from Oakland. Both fugitives were bookedand the third person was simply cited for a Park Code violation.

Shoed away: A man was arrested in a shoe store on the 2700 block of Mission Street at 10:48 a.m. Sept. 18. He had previously been convicted of the same shoe-stealing crime on March 13 of this year and is on felony probation.

Hands off: A man was arrested for shoplifting in a stationery store on the 2000 block of 16th Street at 10:03 a.m. Sept. 19. He had previously been convicted of burglary in July and is on felony probation.
