These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Tenderloin

Tenderloin, bordered by Geary, Market and Larkin streets

Marijuana bust: Plainclothesmen observed a juvenile loitering on Turk Street on Jan. 12. When the officers investigated further, they discovered that the 16-year-old from Oakland was in possession of numerous bags of marijuana. The subject was arrested and the suspected narcotics seized and booked. The juvenile’s mother was notified.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Wannabe taxi driver: Officers stopped a cabdriver who was operating a taxi with no taxi license and with irregular vehicular registration at 21st Avenue and Lincoln Way at 3:56 p.m. Jan. 19. The resident of the 2700 block of 16th Street was cited.

Ingleside

Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

Unforeseen moving expenses: A couple was moving into a new residence on the 200 block of Virginia Avenue at 9 p.m. Jan. 27. Two suspects entered the premises through an open door. One of the suspects produced a handgun and robbed the couple of their belongings.

Mission

Mission district, Noe Valley

Counterfeit cash: Officers made a traffic stop on a subject for a traffic violation at Potrero Avenue and 21st Street at 3 a.m. Jan. 23. They discovered that the driver had a suspended license. As the subject got out of his vehicle, the officers noticed a large quantity of money in the map compartment of the door. The money was counterfeit, more than $900 worth of it.

Northern 

Pacific Heights, Marina, Japantown, Polk Gulch

Moving parole violation: Plainclothesmen in the area of Larkin and Geary streets at 9 a.m. Jan. 10 observed a pedestrian in violation of a traffic law. The officers ascertained the subject was on parole. During a search, the officers located two crack pipes. He was placed under arrest.
