S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department’s daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Tenderloin

Tenderloin, bordered by Geary, Market and Larkin streets

Loud lunch: Officers on patrol on the 700 block of O’Farrell Street on Jan. 14 observed a subject yelling into a restaurant. The officers found the subject was on active parole and probation. The subject was arrested after threatening to kill the officers and their families.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

How many gallons of pot fit in one car? An officer stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation. When the officer approached the vehicle he could smell marijuana. A subsequent investigation found that the vehicle contained two 42-gallon trash cans full of dried marijuana. The suspect was arrested on charges of marijuana for sale.

Mission

Mission district, Noe Valley

Assault: Officers responded to a call of domestic violence on the 2000 block of Mission Street at 10:10 p.m. Jan. 28. The officers learned that a man beat a prostitute repeatedly about her head with a pipe. The man was located, identified and arrested.

Northern

Pacific Heights, Marina, Japantown, Polk Gulch

Curious: Officers walking a foot beat in the area of Fern and Polk streets at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 12 observed a subject peering into vehicle windows. When the officers got closer to the subject, he quickly walked away. The officers detained the subject. In a pat-down, the officers located a crack pipe. He was placed under arrest. During a further search, the officers located crack cocaine.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Litterbugs: An individual observed three males drop garbage on the street at Mason and Vanderwater streets at 6:21 p.m. Jan. 27. The males confronted the man, and a scuffle ensued. Officers responded and arrested two of the three men.
