S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department’s daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Northern

Pacific Heights, Marina, Japantown, Polk Gulch

Bike thief: Officers in the area of Chestnut and Scott streets observed a subject riding a mountain bike at 6 p.m. Jan. 22. They were aware of his prior bicycle theft history. The officers observed the subject check out a bike that was locked to a pole. The subject then used a bolt cutter to cut the lock. He walked away from the bike, then came back to it and rode away. The officers stopped the suspect and identified themselves. The suspect tried to ride away, but the officers stopped him. He was placed under arrest.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

Shooting: Officers were patrolling the area of Jennings Street and Quesada Avenue on Feb. 4, when they heard a gunshot. Immediately afterward, they were flagged down by a woman who told them she had just been shot at and pointed out a nearby vehicle. Two suspects inside the vehicle were detained. As officers investigated, the victims of the shooting and a prior robbery were able to identify the people in the vehicle as the suspects who shot at and robbed them. Officers arrested the two suspects.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Cereal shoplifter: A resident of the 900 block of Howard Street was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at Andronico’s at 1200 Irving Street store at 7:37 p.m. Feb. 9. The suspect was charged with a felony as he had been convicted of theft in the past.

Southern

South of Market, China Basin, Embarcadero

Unwanted window washer: Officers responded to the gas station at 1000 Harrison Street on Feb. 4 regarding a trespasser. They were met by the station agents, who told them the person kept coming into the station, stealing squeegees and harassing customers for money. They said they had received many complaints from customers. The suspect was at the station when the officers arrived and had a squeegee in his hands. The officers arrested the suspect, who also had a crack pipe in his pocket when he was taken into custody. He was booked at County Jail.
