S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department’s daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Northern

Pacific Heights, Marina, Japantown, Polk Gulch

Father, son threatened: Officers on patrol in the area of Polk and Ellis streets at 7 a.m. Feb. 5 were stopped by a victim who told them he and his son were threatened by a man with a knife. The child was visibly upset. The victim then pointed to the suspect. The officers detained the suspect. The man was searched, and the officers found a utility knife in his jacket. The victim told the officers the suspect yelled at him and used profanity toward him and his child. The suspect crossed the street and came toward the victim and his son. The suspect continued to yell at them both and threatened to hurt them. The suspect pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened them with it. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Graffiti on the go: Officers responded to a call of juveniles doing graffiti on a Muni bus at 9:50 p.m. Feb. 8. The reporting party was a passenger on the bus. The caller said the juveniles exited the bus at 41st Avenue. Officers found the juveniles as one of them was tagging a garage door of a home. Officers located a felt-tipped marker, and one of the juveniles was cited for vandalism. Three other males were released to their parents.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Dog gone: An officer responded to a call from the Alameda Police Department at 9 a.m. Feb. 7 about a suspected "dog-napper" on the 500 block of Greenwich Street. After some investigation, the officer recovered the dog and booked a female suspect. The dog was reported in good health and was returned to his rightful owner.

Mission

Mission district, Noe Valley

Laptop mugging: While attempting to use an ATM at 25th and Mission streets at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 4, a 32-year-old male was struck with a pipe and robbed of his laptop computer. Suspects were described as four males.
