S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Tenderloin

Tenderloin, bordered by Geary, Market and Larkin streets

Public toilet: A man who lives on the 300 block of 11th Avenue came home at 2 a.m. Nov. 18 to find a man urinating on his front steps. When the victim told the suspect to stop, the suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. One of the suspect’s friends joined in and allegedly kicked the victim. When the victim attempted to call 911 on his cell phone, one of the suspects grabbed the phone and threw it to the ground, breaking it. The suspects fled in a blue vehicle.

Park

Cole Valley, Haight, Castro, Twin Peaks, Panhandle

Riding in style: Two beat officers in the area of Haight and Stanyan streets at 11:31 p.m. Nov. 12 saw a man riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. The officers stopped to issue him a citation when a record check revealed that he already had nine unpaid citations totaling nearly $2,500. A search revealed a sandwich bag filled with suspected marijuana. He was taken to the station and booked.

Northern

Pacific Heights, Marina, Japantown, Polk Gulch

Prostitution bust: Officers made a total of six arrests where the subjects were booked at county jail for alleged prostitution from 2 a.m. to 4:15 a.m. Nov. 18.

Ingleside

Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

Car chase: Officers saw a car being driven erratically on Mission Street near Ocean Avenue at 1:50 a.m. Nov. 24. Police followed the car east on Persia Avenue and to the 600 block of Madrid Street. A 39-year-old man was arrested for vehicle theft.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Fortuitous: Officers stopped a person who resembled a shoplifter at Ocean and Miramar avenues at 9:05 a.m. Nov. 25. The suspect turned out to be a convicted sex offender who had not registered as required by law.
