S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Northern

Pacific Heights, Marina, Japantown, Polk Gulch

Red handed: An officer was on patrol in the area of Olive and Polk streets at 11:45 p.m. March 2 when he observed a man he suspected was using narcotics. The officer asked the man to take his hands out of his pockets, at which time he saw narcotics in his hands. The officer placed the subject under arrest and located more narcotics and drug paraphernalia on him. The subject was booked.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Accidental capture: Officers were responding to a fight on Broadway in emergency mode with lights and siren at 10 p.m. March 5, when the Honda in front of them came to an abrupt stop at Columbus and Pacific avenues. Two suspects got out of the vehicle and ran into a nearby restaurant, where they were captured. The vehicle that they drove was reported stolen, and the driver was on active probation.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

Drug bust: Officers responded to the 1700 block of LaSalle regarding multiple subjects selling drugs from a white van at 11:25 p.m. March 7. Officers made contact with a subject inside the van whom they knew from previous arrests. Officers searched the subject, who was on parole and located suspected narcotics as well as other paraphernalia.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Perusing parked cars: A plainclothes officer saw a man walking along the curb line, west on Geary Boulevard from Presidio Avenue on March 4. The suspect was looking into windows of parked cars along Geary. The suspect noticed the officer and quickly walked away from the curb line. The officer stopped to talk to the male, who he determined was wanted on a parole violation warrant. The officer also found the male to be in possession of "shaved" keys and two bolt cutters.
