S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Drive-by break-in: Officers responded to a call of an auto burglary on the 700 block of Geary Street at 9:30 p.m. March 10. The officers took a report, including a detailed description of the suspect. Two hours later, while on patrol, the officers spotted the suspect in the vehicle that had been described. The officers stopped the vehicle and recovered three suspected stolen GPS units, burglary tools and two golf-ball-sized pieces of suspected rock cocaine.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

Shot spotted: Officers and a SWAT team responded to Williams Avenue on March 10 regarding a shots-fired call registered on the ShotSpotter system. Officers searched the area and a house but did not locate any victims or suspects. In the house, officers found suspected drugs and a safe containing a large amount of money and more suspected narcotics.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Playground patrol: In response to repeated complaints of alcohol consumption, graffiti, loud noise and loitering at West Portal Playground, officers were walking through the park at 10:06 p.m. March 8 when they encountered a large group of loiterers. They stopped the subjects and found one, who resides on Lucy Street, to be in possession of a large amount of graffiti markers. The suspect was cited and released to his parent.

Ingleside

Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

Follow my car: A San Francisco man saw his stolen car in traffic on U.S. Highway 101 at 3:45 p.m. March 7. He followed his car to Mission Street and called the police. An officer found the stolen car’s driver inside a restaurant and arrested the 22-year-old Mission District man. The owner was reunited with his car, and the driver was booked.
