S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Park

Cole Valley, Haight, Castro, Twin Peaks, Panhandle

Habitual shoplifter: An alleged shoplifter was being held at a store on the 2600 block of Geary Street at 9:30 p.m. Nov. 16. When a police officer arrived, a record check of the subject revealed that the alleged shoplifter had been convicted of theft and served jail time, changing his current crime into a felony theft with a prior conviction. The subject was taken to the station, where a warrant check showed two outstanding warrants for his arrest, both for the same crime he had just allegedly committed.

Park pot bust: Plainclothesmen working in the upper Haight, Golden Gate Park and Buena Vista Park areas from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 17 made nine felony arrests. They seized additional contraband, including two garbage bags containing more than 13 pounds of high-grade marijuana. The bags were "secreted" in the suspects’ "home" within Buena Vista Park.

Ingleside

Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

Stalking report: A Diamond Heights woman reported at 2:20 p.m. Nov. 24 that she had been stalked by her ex-husband. Officers determined that the suspect resided in Daly City and that he was wanted for felony car theft. The Daly City Police Department located the man and arrested him.

Almost knifed: A Visitacion Valley man reported at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 24 that he had been robbed at knifepoint on the 200 block of Parque Drive.

Preying on the old: A 67-year-old Excelsior district woman had her purse taken in a strong-arm robbery at Mission Street and Brazil Avenue at 7:33 p.m. Nov. 24.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Observant girl: A 17-year-old girl walking home saw a man loitering ahead of her at Plymouth and Minerva streets at 4:45 p.m. Nov. 24. Officers found a number of people on nearby Farallones Street. They detained the group for an alleged robbery. The victim was brought to the area and positively identified one of them as the robber. The suspect, who lives on the 1100 block of Laguna Street, was arrested.

Northern

Possible homicide: A shooting where the subject later died was reported at 1:20 a.m. Nov. 16 in the 1300 block of Polk Street. The homicide is being investigated.
