S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Smokin’ thief: A home robbery suspect allegedly tripped an alarm at a house on the 2200 block of Clement Street at 4:10 a.m. Dec. 17. Arriving officers saw that the glass on the front door had been shattered. The suspect took cash and 300 cartons of cigarettes.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Bus theft: A man was on a Muni bus at 19th and Holloway at 6 p.m. Dec. 17 when two persons boarded the bus and surrounded him. They demanded his money and MP3 player. The victim refused, and the suspects allegedly held him down and began poking him in the ribs. The victim yelled to the bus driver that he was being robbed. The police were called, and San Francisco State University officers arrested the two suspects. Other officers took custody of the men, who were residents of South San Francisco at the 4000 block of Judah, for attempted robbery and conspiracy.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

More than fisticuffs: An after-school disagreement on Topeka Avenue ended with two youths booked at Youth Guidance Center for possession of a handgun and crack cocaine at 5 p.m. Dec. 11. Police were summoned to Topeka Avenue on a report of a person with a gun. As police came on scene, a juvenile fled the area, but not before stashing a gun in a bush. He was quickly apprehended by the plainclothesmen team. It was learned that there was an after-school disagreement between two factions on San Bruno Avenue. As one of the groups left the area, the other followed. At one point someone from the latter group took out a gun, waved it in the air and threatened the other group. The first group sought refuge in an aunt’s home on Topeka Avenue, where the police were summoned. One youth was booked for possession of a gun and possession of crack cocaine. Another youth was booked for battery.

Not a hunting area: Officers responded to the area of Paul and San Bruno avenues on report of a person carrying a rifle at 4:45 p.m. Dec. 13. The man was spotted walking on the street by an officer who saw the suspect attempting to take the rifle out of the carrying case. The man was tackled and taken into custody, and the gun was recovered. The man was booked on weapons charges.

Ingleside

The lone gunman: An armed robbery occurred on the unit block of Brentwood Avenue at about 8:20 p.m. Dec. 20. A resident was retrieving an item from his car, which was parked in front of his home when a lone gunman approached and pointed a dark gray pistol at the man. The suspect demanded money, and the victim complied. The suspect also too k a cell phone and sunglasses and fled on foot toward Mangles Avenue. The suspect was described as a man 17 to 18 years old.
