SF offers up a tasty art exhibit

Life can imitate art, but can it pair it with the right food and wine?

That’s a question being posed by one local art gallery this weekend, when it holds an event that brings a new concept to a food and wine obsessed region.

San Francisco’s Chloe Fine Arts Gallery is offering collectors a five-course dinner provided by some celebrated chefs that will be paired with a selection of fine wines. And even before the dessert plates are collected, the menu will be paired with new paintings and sculptures designed specifically for the meal, what gallery officials are calling a pairing of the “visual palette.”

Maybe it will inspire a new trend, called foodie-arts.

The dinner is sold out but the gallery will be holding an exhibit starting Sunday showing how the pairings were done, with a display of the wines and the art. Presumably, the food will all be gone by then.
