S.F. man killed in solo-vehicle crash

A San Francisco man was killed recently in a solo-vehicle crash in Vallejo, according to officials.

Burton Maxwell was identified Friday as the man who was pronounced dead after a solo vehicle accident in Vallejo on Aug. 8.

Solano County Coroner’s Deputy Raymond Lamb said Maxwell, 59, probably did not die from injuries sustained in the crash but might have suffered a medical condition. Toxicology tests are pending.

Vallejo police said Maxwell was driving east on Valle Vista Avenue near Sonoma Boulevard around 8 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle.

The vehicle drove onto the sidewalk and struck two street signs and two trees before stopping near the entrance of the Vallejo Plaza shopping center, police said.

Maxwell was pronounced dead at Sutter Solano Hospital.
