SF leads way as state sees significant drop in cigarette sales 

It seems city supervisors were right on target when they passed legislation further restricting smoking in San Francisco earlier this year.

A new report released Tuesday by the California Board of Equalization shows that cigarette sales dropped significantly statewide this past year.

According to the report, Californians bought 8.1 percent fewer cigarettes this past year compared with 2008, signaling the largest decline since 1999.
