Sewer project disrupts Sunnydale, Visitaction Valley

Roads will be torn up over two years in the Sunnydale and Visitacion Valley neighborhoods by a $2.7 million sewer project designed to reduce flooding.

A new sewer tunnel is planned to be built from Sunnydale Avenue and Talbert Street east to Harney Way over two years beginning in August, under a plan adopted Tuesday by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.

Roughly 4,000 feet of new pipeline will be laid in the tunnel.

Related work will lay 2,800 feet of pipeline along Talbert Street and nearby areas.
