Sequoia assistant supe promoted to top job 

The Sequoia Union High School District has elevated Assistant Superintendent James Lianides to the top job in the district. Lianides will replace Patrick Gemma, who is retiring as superintendent June 30. The Sequoia district has 8,200 students, and Lianides has overseen its $100 million budget. He joined the district in 2008, having previously served as the Pacifica School District superintendent.
