Second-quarter surge leads to Wash victory over Balboa 

The Washington girls’ basketball team outscored Balboa 21-6 in the second quarter en route to the Eagles’ home victory over the Buccaneers in an Academic Athletic Association contest.

Tierney Jones led Washington with 11 points while Laura Wakefield added nine. Balboa was led by Jessica Lang’s 13 points.

Washington’s defense overwhelmed Balboa, playing a full-court man-to-man in the second quarter and adjusting to a trapping 2-3 in the third.
