Facebook honcho Sean Parker's $10 million dollar wedding wasn’t just exorbitant, it also possibly did serious damage to the Big Sur ecosystem.
After news came out that he was being slapped with a $2.5 million dollar fine from the California Coastal Commission, The Atlantic delved deeper and found that the nerdy billionaire bulldozed in an old-growth forest so that he could build a "fake ruined castle." No erosion control measures were taken.
"The unpermitted development has thus impacted the existing redwood forest habits," wrote the CCC. "[It] has likely caused sedimentation of Post Creek."
This means, in essence, that the aquatic life of the area as well as the plants have all been compromised so this guy could pretend he was betrothed in Middle Earth. Where's the "Unlike" button when you need it?
