Scott Brown signs book deal

Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., will write a book about his life and surprising ascent to the U.S. Senate seat held by the late Edward Kennedy.

"Senator Brown is honored and humbled to be approached by many people who want him to tell his inspirational personal story about his life leading up to his election as a United States Senator from Massachusetts," said Gail Gitcho, Brown's spokeswoman. "He will tell his story in a book in hopes of providing insight and encouragement to others and also to ensure that the record is complete and accurate."

Brown will write the book with a collaborator and some of the proceeds will go to charity.

According to those familiar with the deal, Brown has hired top D.C. lawyer and super agent Robert Barnett, from Williams & Connolly to help with the process.
