Scoop: Standing ovation for Zach Braff at Sundance

A decade after his directorial debut, “Garden State,” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, “Scrubs” star Zach Braff got an enthusiastic response in Park City, Utah, to his new film.

The actor, writer and director funded “Wish I Was Here” largely through Kickstarter, reaching a $2 million budget goal in just three days.

Braff, 38, stars in the film with Kate Hudson, Ashley Greene, Joey King and Jim Parsons from “The Big Bang Theory.”

Slated for release in September, the movie is about a man in his mid-30s dealing with a difficult, dying father and his own nuclear family.
