Scoop: Miss Venezuela appears to be cursed

Let’s talk about what can only be dubbed “The Curse of Miss Venezuela.”

Monica Spear, the 2004 title-holder, was pronounced dead Monday after an attempted robbery on a Venezuelan highway.

According to the Huffington Post, Spear, her husband and their 5-year-old daughter were involved in a car crash and attacked by unknown assailants, who shot both parents and left a bullet in the child’s leg.

Another former Miss Venezuela, 1984’s Carmen Lechin, was indicted this week for causing a disturbance on an airplane and interfering with a flight crew attendant. She allegedly went berserk on a flight from Houston to Bogota, Colombia, in June.

Also: Gabriela Alexandra Fernandez Ocando, a contestant in the pageant in 2008, was arrested last year for allegedly being linked to a Colombian drug lord.

No wonder Venezuelan “Bachelor” Juan Pablo Galavis is looking for love on our shores and not his own!
