Scoop! Jen, Vince make nice at People’s Choice

Their romance may have ended onscreen and in real life, but "The Break-Up" stars Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn are still popular with the public — and each other. At Tuesday night’s People’s Choice Awards (where "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest" was the night’s big winner), both stars snagged acting honors for "The Break-Up," and let the world know they’re on good terms.

While accepting her trophy for Favorite Female Movie Star, Jen thanked her ex, calling him a "fantastic friend," and made an ironic reference to life imitating art: "Thanks for loving ‘The Break-Up.’ I know I did."

Later, as Vince claimed his award, he gave his former leading lady props for being "one of the great people in Hollywood" and one of "the funniest, most genuine people I know." Awww.

The duo formerly known as Vaughniston deserves a Most Amicable award for their real-life breakup. Over Christmas, Vince stopped by Jen’s house bearing a gift. And one online rumor even alleged that the couple reconnected to canoodle in Las Vegas over New Year’s, though official reports had Jen ringing in 2007 in Mexico.

Could reconciliation be in the cards? Somehow, we could see it happening … let’s say, right before they start shooting "The Break-Up II."

Suri S.O.S.?

Can Suri come out to play? Apparently, no.

Since her April birth, Suri Cruise has been kept so closely under wraps that for months her very existence was doubted. Despite her Vanity Fair photo debut, and rare sightings of the dark-haired tot at her parents’ Rome wedding and Maldives honeymoon, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes remains shrouded in mystery. So why is she holed up at home 24/7?

A new report in Star magazine offers an ominous explanation: Suri may be in hiding due to fears of kidnapping.

"The world was so obsessed with getting its first peek at Suri, I think Tom and Katie might have decided to keep her under wraps to prevent some wacko from trying to abduct her," a source speculates to the magazine.

Plausible? Sure … but something tells us we’re not getting the whole story. We’ll just have to wait and hope for Suri to turn 18 and publish her tell-all memoir, "Tommie Dearest" … unless, of course, mom and dad make her sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Drew Done With Fab

Aside from getting your beloved’s name tattooed on your body, or refusing to make your unknown fiancée sign a pre-nup, there is no more sure-fire jinx for a Hollywood relationship than gushing about your honey in the cover story of a national magazine. The latest poster child for this phenomenon? Sadly, it’s everyone’s favorite blithe spirit, Drew Barrymore.

In the current issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the "Music and Lyrics" actress, 31, rhapsodizes about her love for Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, 26: "You need to reinvent your relationship if you want to continue being together. Right now, I’m in a phase of, ‘I’m not even your girlfriend. I’m your best friend who is madly in love with you.’"

Well, that whole reinvention thing didn’t work out so well. After five years with Fab, "Drew said they needed time off," a source tells Us Weekly. A source close to the drummer reveals, "Fab is now living back in his old apartment."

A pal of Drew explains the split: "He’s younger, and she’s more worldly. He doesn’t like the Hollywood stuff. He doesn’t get her friends."

But the comeback-kid actress may not be ready to give up on her man just yet: "This is exactly what happened last time they took a break," her friend points out.

Aw, Drew, you two were so cute together! C’mon — give reinvention one more chance!
