Scoop: How did he hide hijinks? Tiger’s pals spill beans

How did Tiger Woods get away with his Lothario behavior for so long? Even for such a gifted athlete, juggling so many women could not have been easy. And indeed, some friends say they were just waiting for the ax to fall.

“A lot of us who love him saw this coming,” a friend who claims to have known Tiger since age 13 told the New York Daily News. “We said, ‘You’ve got to be careful. It’s really getting too raggedy.’ In his own mind, he may not have thought he was doing anything wrong.”

“He was under a lot of pressure,” the friend said of the golf great. “He thought he was just letting off steam. He thought of it as a perk.”

But some friends helped hide Tiger’s infidelities by making travel reservations for mistresses to join him at tournaments, for instance. And at nightclubs and strip joints, an entourage would keep Tiger away from gawkers with cameras while other lackeys were dispatched to approach women who caught his eye.

“There are always a lot of other people around, so it’s never one on one — it all looked very normal,” one source told the New York Post.

“It camouflages what’s going on. He’d just point and say, ‘Who’s that?’ and they’d go over and say, ‘Tiger Woods wants to meet you.’ And they would never leave together.”

So, there you have it. If you want to get away with cheating, simply become a rich, famous, admired superathlete — and even then, it will only work for a while.

A very Jonas wedding

That wailing noise you hear is the sound of millions of anguished 13-year-old girls: Kevin Jonas is off the market. And he got there in lavish style, marrying Danielle Deleasa at a castle on New York’s Long Island.

Despite Saturday’s blizzard conditions, 400 guests attended the nuptials, which featured a “winter wonderland” of tents with icy-
looking, crystal-decorated trees, the wedding planner told People magazine. The bride wore a strapless Vera Wang gown and “looked like a princess,” the planner said.

“We’re so happy that we’re finally married and we were able to share the special moment with family, friends and loved ones,” the newlyweds told the magazine.

We’ll refrain from making a purity-ring joke because, really, that would just be tacky.

Kate: Skiing solo

Kate Hudson is nursing her broken heart with a little support from mom and dad. The “Nine” star, who recently split from baseball player Alex Rodriguez, headed to the Aspen, Colo., chalet of mother Goldie Hawn and unofficial stepfather Kurt Russell to ski. But some pals of the actress aren’t too sorry to see her single again.

“Kate is better off without A-Rod,” one friend told the New York Daily News. “She had much better chemistry with Owen Wilson. Alex is such a diva. When he came to the London premiere of ‘Nine,’ it was obvious he didn’t like standing in the background. He’d show up late to every appearance.”

But a buddy of the Yankees slugger defends his unwillingness to commit.

“He just went through a crazy divorce,” the friend said. “He wasn’t ready for a serious relationship. Friends would ask him, ‘Do you love Kate?’ He’d say, ‘She’s a good person.’ Alex is a romantic. He’s a love-at-first-sight guy.

I think she was more into the idea of them together. She dug going to the ballpark and being the center of attention for 50,000 people. It helped her more than him.”

Hey, maybe A-Rod liked being the one to bring his girlfriend publicity, rather than the other way around. After all, his previous girlfriend was Madonna.
