Scoop: Director confirms Twilight romance

OK, can we finally drop the pretense of saying Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are “allegedly” together? No less a source than “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke tells no less an outlet than Time magazine that she doesn’t know when the romance started, but, well, it’s on now.

When “Twilight” came out, the tabloids instantly started buzzing about the onscreen lovebirds being a couple offscreen as well. But Catherine speculates that it took “a long time” for them to hook up in real life — perhaps because of the law.

“After I cast him, I told Rob, ‘Don’t even think about having a romance with her,’” Catherine says. “‘She’s under 18. You will be arrested.’”

Asked about the genesis of their relationship, the director says, “I didn’t have a camera in the hotel room. I cannot say [when it began]. But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn’t happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, ‘OK, I’ve got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.’”

So now can they give it a go of coming out as a couple?

Janet Blames Doctor

Janet Jackson says she believes that Dr. Conrad Murray was responsible for the death of her brother Michael. The pop icon’s personal physician is being investigated for his role in the June incident, and Janet tells ABC News she believes Murray should be barred from practicing medicine.

Janet says in an interview set to air Wednesday, “He was the one that was administering” the sedative propofol. “I think he is responsible.”

The singer also talks about how she learned of her brother’s death via a call from her assistant: “‘Your brother’s been taken to the hospital. It’s on CNN right now.’”

Then in New York, Janet spoke with her family and “told them to call me when they got to the hospital. And I remember thinking nobody’s calling me back, so I tried calling again, and that’s how I found out that he was no longer ... I couldn’t believe it,” Janet says.

“It just didn’t ring true to me. It felt like a dream,” she says. “It’s still so difficult for me to believe. But it’s hard. You have to move on with your life.”

Hissing Cougar

Courteney Cox stars on “Cougar Town,” but on set she apparently roars like a lion. The actress’s underlings accuse her of downright mean diva behavior, per a tabloid report.

“Courteney is the star of the show and very domineering. She gives off this ‘I’m important and you’re not’ vibe,” an anonymous source on the crew of the show tells National Enquirer.

“Courteney makes a huge number of script changes to make her character look good, and she is extremely picky about everything on the show,” the source says.

The former “Friends” star has allegedly been known to terrorize members of the crew.

When a craft-services worker served a lunch not to her liking, “Courteney ranted at her and said, ‘Everyone knows you are supposed to have equal parts of ham and cheese in a sandwich!’”

Well, actually, we can’t disagree with her on that one. There’s nothing worse than a poorly proportioned sandwich.
