Save Our Caltrain summit aims to aid cash-strapped transit agency 

A summit scheduled next weekend aims to identify sustainable funding for Caltrain and ensure the transit agency’s long-term success.

Save Our Caltrain, organized by Friends of Caltrain, will be held Jan. 29 and feature speakers such as Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune and Caltrain Joint Powers board of directors Chairman Sean Elsbernd.

The event will address ways the transit agency can increase ridership, improve service and create long-term funding.

The summit will take place at SamTrans headquarters, 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos.
