San Mateo police shoot suspect 

San Mateo police officers shot a suspect who had fired on cops, according to the department.

Between 10:30 and 11 a.m. Monday, a single suspect shot at officers in the 1500 block of Oak Street in San Mateo, according to a release from the department.

Officers returned fire and the suspect was shot. No officers were injured in the exchange, and the condition of the suspect was not released.

A press conference is expected to be held later Monday to release more details about the shooting.
