San Mateo police seek help nabbing men who robbed Taco Bell

San Mateo police are seeking the public's assistance to catch three crooks who robbed a Taco Bell on Monday.

The incident unfurled about 10:40 p.m. when three suspects, all wearing hoodies and blue jeans, masks and gloves, entered the restaurant at 1975 El Camino Real "and held three customers and five employees at bay," robbing the restaurant and the personal property of the victims, police said. Only one of the suspects was armed.

The suspects then fled the scene.

One employee suffered only a minor injury, police said.

The suspects were described as each being about 6-feet tall, all wearing hoodies - two black, one gray - and masks and gloves. They were seen leaving the Taco Bell on foot but a vehicle was heard speeding by moments later.

Anyone with information on these crooks is encouraged to call police at the anonymous tip line (650) 522-7676 or Detective Reyna at (650) 522-7662 or by email at
