San Mateo police asking for public’s help to find suspects in fatal stabbing

Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue to search for suspects in the murder of a man who was found in a self storage facility in San Mateo on June 7.

Emergency crews responded to All American Self Storage at around 1:30 p.m. and discovered the victim, 33-year-old John Lockwood of Pacifica. He had been stabbed and died at the scene, police said.

Police said they do not believe that Lockwood’s murder was a random act of violence. They consider it an isolated incident and are asking for the public’s help to gather more information.

Detectives believe that one of the parties involved had a storage unit at the facility at 200 East Third Ave. and was there that day for a reason related to that unit.

Police are reviewing video footage from the storage site and are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call police at (650) 522-7650 or the anonymous tip line at (650) 522-7676. Anonymous tips can also be sent via text message to (650) 262-3473 or emailed to
