San Mateo County DUI checkpoints net 3 arrests 

Three people were arrested during sobriety checkpoints in parts of San Mateo County on Saturday night, according to the Burlingame Police Department.

The saturation patrol took place between 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday and was conducted by units from the San Mateo, Foster City and Burlingame police departments.

A total of 61 cars were stopped and screened for drivers under the influence, while four drivers were given field sobriety tests, police said.

Joan Raoul, 34, of San Mateo and Luther Sacinas, 36, of Oakland were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police.

Kevin Mullins, 40, of Willits was arrested for allegedly possessing paraphernalia, police said.

Four motorists were also cited for suspended-license violations during the operation, police said.

The patrol was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
