San Francisco's top romantic spots for Valentine's Day

With San Francisco recently rated the sexiest city in the U.S. by the travel company Orbitz, the locally based social planning travel site Gogobot compiled a list of The City’s most romantic spots based on a users’ survey; The Examiner has added a few.

Gary Danko
“Everything from the greeting to the entry to the wine pouring was perfect down to the last drop.”

Napa Valley
Not technically in The City, but the “easy drive” is the “perfect weekend getaway, great for couples.”

Dosa on Fillmore
It’s “extremely enjoyable — great service, ambiance and fancy cocktails, serving high quality, South Indian-inspired cuisine.”

Fleur de Lys
“The entire experience screams something cozy, seductive and most definitely French.”

California Academy of Sciences
“A spectacular experience filled with ... useful learning resources.”

San Francisco Zoo
“If you want to see some animals, this is still a great resource ... you never know when the sun is going to come out for a visit.”

Fort Point National Historic Site
“The view is indescribable and breathtaking at the very least. You get a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge.”

Golden Gate Park
The park is “very serene” and boasts conservatories, museums and specialties such as the Japanese Tea Garden.

Baker Beach, Coit Tower, Lands End
Not only do these spots offer sublime scenery, they’re places to see the wide variety of folks comprising The City’s colorful population.
