San Francisco's Salon Belle de Soir personalizes the experience

Tracy Stanwick, the owner of Salon Belle de Soir (Beauty of the Evening), makes the customers and personalized hair styling a priority in the small boutique tucked away on a corner at 2208 Filbert St. She describes the salon as a secret handshake with people hearing of it by word of mouth; it’s more personal than overwhelming.

What services do you offer? We offer full service from cut and color to relaxers and perms. Hair talks to you and people don’t know what to do with it. It’s more then taking off length, and more about putting movement back into hair. We teach people how to look after their hair properly and duplicate what we are doing in the boutique.

What’s your favorite treatment? The Brazilian keratin treatment. It is chemical-free. What I like is that it is a smoothing treatment that is putting keratin back into your hair and making your hair more manageable.

Describe the salon in three words. Comfortable. Elegant. Affordable.

How are you different than other hair salons or boutiques? We personalize the service for each client. It’s not just in and out. It’s all about the integrity of the hair.
