San Francisco's first baby takes the stage

San Francisco’s first baby, Montana Tessa Newsom, made her public debut Saturday with her parents Mayor Gavin Newsom and wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom.

The occasion? A celebration for the theater that now houses the American Conservatory Theater, which turns 100 years old this weekend.

Clothed in a fuzzy pink outfit, the couple’s baby daughter, who was born September 18, didn’t seem phased by the spotlight when the handsome family stepped on stage to cheers and applause.

While the arrival of the first child had been a highly anticipated event, the media had not had the opportunity to snap Montana’s picture until today – nearly four months after her birth.

The child is the first for both Gavin and Jennifer, who met during a blind date in October 2006 and wed in July 2008 at Siebel Newsom’s family ranch in Montana -- the first marriage for Jennifer and the second for Gavin.
