San Francisco supervisor supports tree designations

Supervisor Michaela Alioto-Pier will support the designation of two landmark trees during Tuesday’s session.

One is a 50-foot-tall Monterey cypress. The other is a rare manzanita. There are plans to publish a scientific study about the manzanita, which received scientific testimony from San Francisco State University.

Landmark trees are marked on city parcel maps and property owners must receive city permission before removing them.
