San Francisco police investigating burglary discover marijuana grow operation

Cops hunting for burglars in a Portola home came upon a large marijuana growing operation Tuesday afternoon, police at Ingleside Station said.

A neighbor called police around 12:30 p.m. about the possibility that a home in the 800 block of Peru Avenue was being burglarized.

The neighbor told cops someone had crashed a black sedan into the garage and then entered the residence. When police went into the home, they found an indoor pot farm.

According to police, the owner of the home denied knowing anything about the weed, saying he’d been renting the home to two unknown males through a rental company.

Cops were not able to locate the tenants. The officers confiscated all the narcotics. But this investigation is not over, police said.
