San Francisco police arrest man accused of impersonating a cop

A man allegedly masquerading as a San Francisco police detective was busted after speeding through several red lights on Mission Street early Monday.

The real officers at Ingleside Station say the poser not only told people he was a cop, he drove a car resembling a investigator’s unmarked police cruiser and also had illegal lighting devices and an air horn.

Two cops pulled over his vehicle at the intersection of Mission and Randall streets just before 3 a.m. The alleged impersonator, whose name hasn’t been released, was taken into custody and issued citations for impersonating a police officer and traffic violations.
