San Francisco: Places to go, people to see

Jean Renoir’s "La Grande Illusion" (1937) screens at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as part of the museum’s tribute to the French filmmaker. The shared humanity of various protagonists from different sides and backgrounds is at the heart of this World War I-set drama, which is regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. The movie screens Sunday at 3 p.m. at SFMoMA, 151 Third St. Tickets are $5 to $7.
