San Francisco: Places to go, people to see

Here’s something a little bit different: an interactive sound healing multimedia concert with 3-D glasses. Presented by the Globe Sound Healing and Therapy Institute & Insight and Sound Productions, the show, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brava Theatre, promises to "create a positive physical, emotional, mental and spiritual transformation," according to its promoters.

Featured performers are healing artist Silvina Vergara, music practitioner Jan Cercone, New Orleans soulster Louis-Virie Blanche, "psychic human tuning fork" Laurie Roth and special guests. Three-dimensional visuals of sacred geometry floating over the audience will round out the experience. 3-D glasses will be provided at the show.

Tickets are $30 to $35. The theater is at 2881 24th St., San Francisco. Call (415) 777-2486 or visit www.soundhealingcenter.com.

Daniel Johnston

Daniel Johnston, indie folk-rock singer-songwriter with an ever-growing international cult audience, performs in San Francisco. Johnston is known for his low-fi sound, his tales of unrequited love and existential torment, and his playful, symbol-heavy drawings. The show is today at 8 p.m. at Bimbo’s 365 Club, 1025 Columbus Ave., San Francisco. Tickets are $18.

Call (415) 474-0365 or visit www.bimbos365club.com.

Dave Brubeck quartet

Renowned jazz pianist Dave Brubeck, still touring and recording new music, performs with his current quartet. The concert is Friday at 8 p.m. at the Fox Theatre, 2215 Broadway, Redwood City. Tickets are $35 to $65.
