San Francisco: Places to go, people to see 

The Cocktail Monkeys, a Bay Area dance-party band featuring the dynamic Renee on lead vocals, screamin’ Mark St. John on guitar, explosive Bobby A. C. on bass and rock steady Will Diamond on drums, appears in concert. The group, named after those little plastic monkeys found hanging from the rim of cocktail glasses, specializes in recognizable and danceable rock, Motown, pop and disco. The show is at 8 p.m. Friday at the Little Fox, 2215 Broadway, Redwood City. Tickets are $12 to $14.

Vintage paper fair

The weekend-long Vintage Paper Fair opens. Postcards, trade cards, photography, labels, brochures, sports memorabilia and a diverse assortment of old paper are on view and for sale. Hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free show is at the Hall of Flowers/County Fair Building, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.
