San Francisco legal veteran named Palo Alto city attorney

One of the more prominent deputy city attorneys in San Francisco will no longer be providing her services here. Molly Stump, lead counsel at San Francisco International Airport, has been appointed city attorney of Palo Alto.

Before the airport, Stump was chief counsel to the Police Commission and the chief of police. She also served as special transition counsel to incoming mayor Gavin Newsom. She joined the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office in 1996.
