San Bruno police arrest two juveniles in attempted robbery

San Bruno police on Monday arrested two juveniles in connection with an attempted robbery.

Police were alerted to the incident that occurred in the 700 block of San Mateo Avenue about 5:08 p.m.

The two suspects approached a male victim and demanded his wallet and cellphone, police said. One of the suspects then punched the victim in the back of the head before fleeing the scene empty-handed.

The victim was not seriously injured in the assault.

The suspects were seen running north on Huntington Avenue and were apprehended just a short distance away, police said.

The two suspects were 15 years old and one was a San Bruno resident and the other hailed from South San Francisco. They were booked into the Hillcrest Juvenile detention facility on charges of attempted robbery and conspiracy.
