Sacred Heart's McEvoy leads USF recruits 

The USF men’s soccer recruiting class for 2008 includes a definite foreign flavor and one city prep.

Joining him are junior-college transfer Leon Williams (midfielder, San Jacinto (Texas) College) of Jamaica, Swedish defender Victor Wennberg, Arcadia High School’s Omar Elmasri, Toronto midfielder Adam Nowak (California High of San Ramon), Redwood High of Visalia defender Jared Cruz and Gonzaga College High of Washington, D.C., goalkeeper Ryan Amons.

» The USF women’s soccer team has added six players to fill out its recruiting class for 2008. Coach Mark Carr’s second season on the Hilltop will include Canyon High of Canyon Country forward Molly Hall, Iolani School of Honolulu midfielder Alyssa Simbahon, Roosevelt High of Seattle midfielder Meritt Peterson, UC Davis transfer defender Afiya Roberts, Santa CruzHigh defender Jane Shook and El Dorado High of Placentia defender Lauren Abarca.

The Dons’ class, which includes nine players signed in February, was ranked 30th in the West Region by SoccerBuzz.com.
