Robin Williams to receive film award 

Robin Williams will be the recipient of top honors at the 50th San Francisco International Film Festival, which runs April 26 through May 10.

The Peter J. Owens Award, for actors whose work exemplifies brilliance and independence, will be presented to Williams on May 3, Film Society Awards Night, at the Westin St. Francis Hotel.

Williams will also appear at the Castro Theatre on May 4 in a program featuring career retrospective film clips, an onstage interview and a screening of "The Fisher King," one of his best-loved films.

Other honorees at the gala black-tie fundraiser will include George Lucas, Spike Lee and screenwriter Peter Morgan.
