Pitofsky, a former Federal Trade Commission chairman, has been singled out for a career spent in antitrust law. U.S. Attorney Eric Holder gave Pitofsky Justice's Sherman Award. Holder celebrated Pitofsky's "outstanding and substantial contributions to the field of antitrust law, the protection of American consumers and the preservation of economic liberty." Pitofsky is currently a professor at Georgetown Law Center. He was FTC chairman in the Clinton administration.
