Richmond Station police say M-80 explosion shattered window 

Laurel Heights residents awakened by an explosion early Sunday morning can rest assured San Francisco did not endure a missile attack.

An M-80 firework device was set off, breaking a window in the unit block of Palm Avenue, according to Richmond Station police.

The fireworks were set off around 3:45 a.m., police said.

M-80s are illegal to buy, sell, or use in the U.S.
